Clutching my bow close to my chest, I inched my way slowly over to the edge of the cliff. Footsteps muted, I was able to peer over the side of the rocky platform without so much as arising alarm of presence to the company of unfamiliar elves that treed below. The hidden pass that led into Rivendell was not easily located, so obviously they knew where they were going, but still I cautiously tracked them. I did speculate who they were, but seeing as they were getting along just fine, I decided better of offering them my assistance. Instead I followed in shadow, listening to the conversation when it was open and closing my ears when things jumped far from what any outside of their small band had been meant to hear.
Two of them were golden haired, they took to the led. One seemed quite familiar, but I could not place him. Perhaps he was someone of importance, he certainly had that atmosphere about him, and it made me feel as if I should have recognized him without delay. I'd probably be standing stupidly once I figure out where they hail from and who's name they wear. Glorfindel had told me to be watchful for arrival, but the names he provided had conveniently slipped from my mind. I should really start paying attention to everything that comes out of his mouth, rather than watch his lips as they formed the words. NO, stop it Falcon. Scrutinizing myself within, I continued to maneuver about after the elves that traversed on horseback naught but a few several feet down from where I crouched.
At least I remembered enough of what the captain had said to peg these guys for the ones that I was supposed to be looking out for.
Momentarily taking my eyes off of them at the crow of a passing raven, I noticed with a sinking feeling that the sun had nearly reached it's limited time in the sky for the day. It would be near nightfall before they reached the gates at this agonizingly slow pace they were going at, but there was nothing for it. Erestor would just have to suffer through supper without me to protect him from the ever smug Glorfindel on this half-moon. Smirking at the thought of the two having to sit it out together without me, I narrowed smiling eyes back upon the sluggish elves beneath me. They could take all the time they'd like. Tormenting the poor Erestor was one of my more favored past times, but Glorfindel was the one who did it best. I'd get an earful of his exploits later into the next day, and for now that satisfied me enough to continue at such a slow pace.---
As I'd predicted, the sun had long faded from the expanse reaches of the sky to give way for the ever changing moon that now hung above with only the twinkling stars for company. I stuck around for only a moment, ensuring that someone properly greeted the elves as they arrived at the entrance to Rivendell - as soon as they'd been accepted, I skipped out from my place of 'hiding' (my natural grace carrying me easily, as faint as a whisper upon the wind), happy to finally be able to retire unto my chambers. I did not trail after those that I'd followed, instead I took off to the side in avoidance. I would be lying to say that I wasn't at all curious of them, but I was sure that they were being led off to beds of which, like myself, probably yearned for after what I could only presumed to have been a long journey.
I had just hung my bow and quiver in their proper place upon the wall when the shouting of voices coming from just down the hall floating into my room. It was hardly ever that I found myself listening to an argument between elves. We were usually such calm and rational people, and before I even knew what I was doing, I was heading out of the door and creeping my way down the corridor. I knew I shouldn't intrude, but these voices were not of any whom I knew, and I was a little more than intrigued to say the least. The words that flew were harsh, and I found myself flinching at them even though I had no idea of what these two men spoke of. Again, I hadn't the slightest idea of what I was doing when suddenly I was standing within sight of both clearing my throat to speak.
I didn't know what I'd say, but when my eyes took in the appearance of the elves that stood before me, I somehow managed to pluck bits of total nothings right out of the air. "Pardon me, my Lords." I started, "But your presence has been requested." I inclined toward the golden haired ellon that stood to my right. I didn't dare look to the left, for fear that my lie would be made. I felt incredible repentance towards my actions, but there was no way I was fixing to sit back and allow this to continue... especially once I'd recognized the blonde. Though I knew him only from my tracking of his company, there was this incredible need to save him from whatever hateful words remained inside the other present elf - it grew with every passing second within my chest. By the way he looked, I had appeared in the nick of time, but would he play along?
OOC :: Hopefully this works for a starter well enough? I thought she might share a connection with him easily, because of the loss they both have suffered (even without yet knowing)... not sure if elves feel that kind of urge that she did to protect him for that reason, but I figured if they can sense the presence of good and evil, that they can also sense this? Idk, don't mind me! xD Legolas
